1. Build a weighted scorecard (fit to job, integrations, total cost at our volume, ease of setup, UK/EU data hosting and DPA, security certifications, proof from similar brands, contract terms).
2. Write 15 questions to ask each vendor in a demo, including how pricing scales, what happens to our data, and a reference customer in the UK.
3. Design a 30-day pilot with success metrics and an exit plan.
4. List red flags to watch for.
Note anything that needs verifying on the vendor's own site or contract.
